Due to bad weather, FCDS is closed Thursday and Friday, February 19 and 20 for the safety of our staff and participants.
Empowering adults with developmental disabilities.

First Christian Day Services is a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. It’s our mission to enrich and empower the lives of participants through community integration and employment.

Programming is available Monday through Friday for adults with developmental disabilities who have graduated high school and are eligible for county board services. It is not a requirement that potential program participants be enrolled on a Medicaid “IO” (Individual Options) or Level 1 Waiver. Private pay options are also available. For questions about program eligibility, enrollment, or to schedule a tour of our campus, contact us below!

Adult Day Support
We offer programming Monday through Friday. Each day is structured and active. We start at 9am and dismiss at 2pm. Each segment of our programming lasts approximately 45-50 minutes with a short break in between, so participants can transition to the next activity. Every day at FCDS offers components of our four programming areas—faith, fitness, arts and outings—so no one is ever sitting around waiting for something to do!

All participants are paired with highly skilled, trained, and caring personnel as they attend enriching classes, activities, and experiences throughout the day. It’s our priority that each person in the program is valued and that his or her unique needs are met with exceptional care.

Our program focuses on six key areas of growth and development: Personal care, skill reinforcement, self-determination, recreation and leisure, and path to community employment, which introduces participants to opportunities in hospitality, food service, retail, housekeeping, and clerical work.

Our Adult Day Service Program is individualized, and activities are identified based upon interests and abilities. We offer supports for retired individuals, as well as wheelchair/medically fragile and mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
Vocational Habilitation
For those folks who are curious about exploring and expanding their vocational interests in the community, we have a support room that splits weekly time between vocational and recreation and leisure opportunities. This enables participants to discover their interests through volunteering.

FCDS also employs adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in two main work groups: Clerical and Maintenance & Housekeeping, and Food Service. Participants in our vocational habilitation program gain real-world experience and skills while earning a weekly wage. Our program focuses on responsibility, attendance, task completion, problem solving, social interaction, motor skill development, and safety. Work groups also participate in FCDS outings, faith lessons, and special events each month.

All of our teams are directed by skilled, caring leaders who coach participants in social skills, communication, and practical work skills. The FCDS paid work program provides opportunities that enrich and empower the lives of our employees.

Non-Medical Transportation

We provide non-medical transportation to and from our program.  Our current fleet employs seven vehicles, including two accessible buses with wheelchair lifts. All our vehicles are inspected daily. Every participant is picked up directly at his or her door—which means no waiting outside at a designated stop. We prioritize safety and accessibility.
