Thanks for checking out First Christian Church.

We know: It can be uncomfortable setting foot in a brand new place—let alone a church. We’re glad you’re here, though. Below is a welcome video along with some info that may help with that before you visit.

Common questions

When are your services?

Services are Sunday at 9:30 and 11am.

Where can I get directions to church?

We’re located on Market Ave. (St Rt 43) south of Applegrove St. and north of Maple/Easton St. You can get directions from Google Maps or use the general  directions below:

From I-77 (Hartville, Green, Uniontown, Canton, Massillon)

Traveling north or south on I-77, take the Portage Exit then turn right, follow Portage St. to Maple St. then turn left. Then at Market Ave. (St Rt 43) take another left. The church will be on your right.

From south (downtown, Perry)

Pick up Cleveland Ave. going north and turn right on Easthill Ave. (55th) shortly after Everhard Rd. Then turn left at Market Ave. The church will be on your right after Maple/Easton St.

From east (Louisville)

Take 62 west to Market Ave. (St Rt 43), then turn right. The church will be on your right after E Maple/Easton Ave.

From west (Canal Fulton)

Take Portage St. east to Maple Ave. and turn left. Then at Market Ave., take another left. The church will be on your right.

What about parking and entrances?

When you arrive, you’ll see signs directing you to one of four lots (A, B, C and D). Lots B, C, and D offer handicapped parking. Lot C also has a covered drop-off location and may be helpful to those who have difficulty getting in and out of a vehicle. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have special needs and need any help.

What's available for my kids?

Simply put: We love families. We work hard to provide fun, safe, and excellent programming where kids can learn about God.

First Kids children’s ministry is for infants through 5th grade and takes place during the 9:30 and 11am services on Sunday. The Shine class for youth with disabilities (ages 3-18) takes place during the 11am Sunday service. FCC student ministry for 6th-12th grade happens for middle school on Sunday mornings at 11am and for high school on Sunday evenings at 6pm.

You can learn more about what’s available for kids and for older students here on our website or stop by the Welcome Center on Sunday.

How do I get connected here?

We know: Large churches can be intimidating, and it’s normal to feel lost-in-the-shuffle when you don’t know anyone. That’s why we provide and encourage as many people as possible to join life groups and serving teams. You can read up on these connecting points online or stop by the Connection Corner near the main entrance and café.

What do you believe? What kind of church are you?

We believe the Bible and that it’s our single constant source of truth. We believe that it’s all about Jesus, about reaching out to all people in unconditional love, and about growing followers of Him.

We’re a “simply Christian” kind of church—we try not to complicate, to add frills, or to make needless requirements to follow Jesus that the Bible never makes. We’re a church for all people teaching Jesus for all people.

For a little more in-depth look, read more about what we believe here. Feel free to contact us any time with questions about FCC’s theology and doctrine.

Did I hear you had a ministry for people with disabilities?

Yes, you did! We currently have multiple Sunday opportunities for individuals or families with disabilities.

Hidden Treasures is a class for adults with developmental disabilities. It meets in Heritage Hall A (Main Level) at 9:30am and 11:00 am.

Shine is a class for youth (ages 3-16) with developmental disabilities. It meets in Playland (Main Level) at 11am.

We host numerous special events throughout the year for people with disabilities. You can always visit our events page to see what’s coming up!

We work hard to be a presence in our community, providing opportunities like First Christian Day Services, Edgewood Field (a home for Canton Challenger baseball and Stark County Special Olympics baseball), and volunteer guardianship.
